I spent the weekend in Vancouver, British Columbia and am still sorting through my shots (all 800 and some of them) but this shot below is one of my favorites so far.

I also played with some fisheye portraiture, and below is my favorite out of those shots.

I went to the Calgary Zoo with my macro photography class.  We spent the rainy morning in the conservatory with the butterflies.

Wow, I had forgotten that I had even started this blog with how crazy the last year has been.  Below are a few photos of one of my favourite people in the whole world.  It was his first birthday and his mom got the great idea to do a DIY smash the cake photoshoot.  This was a learning experience for me and what I took away from it is that I need to place a second speedlight on a stand from the other corner of the backdrop to eliminate some of the shadows that are especially apparent like the shadows from the balloons.

 

 

 

I had the opportunity to go up to the Penthouse Boardroom on the SAIT Campus here in Calgary for some amazing night photography as part of the general photography class that I am currently taking.  I also wanted to show off my new post-processing skills that I am slowly building to show what the image looked like before I got it into PSE 10.

Afternoon in Cochrane, Alberta

I spent a couple of hours this afternoon in Cochrane, Alberta playing around with my different lenses and filters.  I really like the hotel on Main Street and also couldn't resist this loveable dog.  Near the dog park there is a bridge that I really liked, especially with the red barn in the background.
